Should Someone Rescue That Dog?
Starting August 1, 2024 🗓️, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will implement new regulations 📜 governing the import and re-entry of all dogs 🐶 into the United States. These comprehensive rules will affect all dogs, including puppies 🐕, service animals 🦮, and dogs that have previously traveled outside of the U.S. 🌎, regardless of whether the owner is a U.S. citizen, a legal resident, or a foreign visitor. Additionally, adherence to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) regulations and those of the specific U.S. destination will be required. It is important to note that dogs entering the U.S. for commercial purposes, such as resale or adoption, will be subject to further stipulations laid out by the USDA.
